I love giving gifts and OPEN HOUSE 2011

I love giving people gifts!!!

I made a back to school gift for Jameson's teacher. I got this idea from the website pinterest. I used card stock to make the little pouches and bought the crystal light individual packs that you mix with water.



I made a bunch more for other coworkers! :)



OPEN HOUSE

I made each student a baggie with swedish fish in it and a tag that says.."You're O"FISH"ally in First Grade!


I also made little booklets for them to read the night before school starts.


Inside the booklet is a poem and "magic" confetti for the student to sprinkle to bring them good luck for the first grade.

I was feeling crafty so I made this Crayon Wreath for my classroom door. I am thinking about making another one to give as a first day of school gift to Jameson's teacher.

Organizing/Nesting Begins

So I am very excited and anxious about baby Glover #2~ so this morning during breakfast I couldn't take looking at our mess of a pantry any longer. See below:



I'm embarrassed to even show how bad it has become. Most people who come to our house for the first time comment on how lucky we are to have such a big pantry..while I agree totally, it is also bittersweet because it can hold so much stuff and tends to get disorganized easily.
My dear husband loves to put the groceries away in no particular place in the pantry and then after a few times of doing that we have the picture above! CHAOS!!! (We talked about it and he is going to let me put all the groceries away from now on...ha...I'm sure that was a very hard decision for him to come to!)

So I got started around 9am and finished around 11:30. ha.


Three bags of trash later (which by the way made me feel totally wasteful and thankful for what I have.):



We have a MORE organized Pantry! :) YAY





I even found some cool stuff I had forgotten about..like...my COOKIE JAR from when I was a kid!!!!

Now I'm going to walk around our house and see what's next! ;)

Back to School

Those three words usually make me really sad and sick to my stomach...but for some reason this year, I am extremely excited about school starting. I have been up to my classroom working very hard (too) many times this summer. I can't wait to try all the new things I have in my jumbled up head of ideas.

Here are some things I accomplished today (this is also with my five-year-old, Jameson with me at school constantly needing something or asking something.ha. I'm quite proud of what I have been able to accomplish with him there.):

My new word walls on each side of the white board. This year my words are going to be much bigger so the students can view them easier. I have not liked how ineffective my word walls have been in the past so this year I am going to make it more user-friendly.


My Calendar area is at the front of the room on part of whiteboard.

My rather large (and growing) pile of items to be laminated! UGH! I hate when the laminator is not working or doesn't have film on it! I am going through lamination withdrawl!!!! HELP!
